Often we scour the Internet in search of a quick snack and reread hundreds of recipes to find something worthwhile. Today I’m going to simplify that process and show you a really simple, but at the same time delicious dish. In this case, all the ingredients are as trivial as possible, and the cooking time does not exceed 15 minutes.

So, we are going to make a lavash roll with crab sticks and processed cheese. The appetizer is prepared in several stages. First we knead the cheese salad with crab sticks, and then everything is wrapped in lavash. So we proceed to cutting the stuffing. Crab sticks (10 pcs.) we cut into 0.5 cm cubes. There is no need to worry that it is coarse enough, because when mixed, they will disintegrate into small plates.

All the other ingredients will be grated. I prefer to use a coarse grater, so that the products do not turn into mush. This is how we grate boiled eggs (2 pcs.), processed cheese (2 pcs.) and a small piece of cheese (150g). It is desirable to take a creamy cheese, without bitterness. The best varieties are such as: Edam, Gouda, non-spicy Cheddar.

Now mix the filling with mayo (5 tbsp). I recommend using homemade mayonnaise because it has no starch and mixes well with the other ingredients.

If you get store-bought, make sure that the ingredients contain a minimum of artificial emulsifiers and thickeners. The result is something similar to a cheese salad, only with the addition of crab sticks and semy-hard cheese.

To make the snack more savory or spicy, you can add a few cloves of garlic pressed through a garlic masher, or finely chopped herbs.

Let’s move on to the last step – wrapping the roll. To do this, spread out the lavash and carefully lay out a thin layer of filling.

We leave the far edge of the roll without stuffing, so that the salad doesn’t squeeze out of the finished dish. It is smeared with mayonnaise – so the roll is easier to twist at the end and does not open. For the prepared amount of stuffing you will need 2 standard sheets of lavash. Ready roll with crab sticks and processed cheese we leave in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

During this time the pita will be soaked from the filling, and the snack will become more homogeneous. There is no point in keeping the rolls longer, because the dough will soak more than necessary. After the allotted time, take the snack out of the fridge, and cut into portions, about 2 cm thick.

The roll is very tender and delicious. The filling does not fall out of the pita, so the snack is easy to eat. Despite its simplicity, the recipe is perfect even for a holiday table.

Bon appetit! Don’t starve 😋
