Full recipe

Today I will introduce you to the fastest and easiest recipe for roasted pork. Just 5 minutes of personal time and you will have incredibly juicy and flavorful meat on the table.

This recipe is somewhat similar to turkey in the oven, but we won’t have the crispy crust from the skin and the meat will smell nice with fresh herbs.

As you can easily guess, to cook pork in an oven bag we need pork (1.2 kg). Ideal is rump or ham. Loin also turns out well, but it is even better to bake it in a roll without removing it from the bone – then the loin comes out juicy. Shank meat though is the toughest, but having cooked it according to this recipe you will not notice it. I just had a pork rump, so will show everything on it. Wash the meat well and put it in a bowl, where we will marinate it. We will cook as a whole piece, as this way the pork will come out juicier. It is impossible to achieve a completely similar result if you cut the meat into pieces.

The marinade for the pork consists of those spices that are available in the house. The only thing I recommend is to always add soy sauce (1.5 tbsp), dried garlic (1 tsp), salt (1 tsp) and pepper (1 tsp). The soy sauce enhances the meat flavor, so the cooked pork will be more intense. Dried garlic combines perfectly with raw garlic. Despite the fact that it is the same vegetable, in different states, it has a completely different flavor and aroma, so it perfectly complements each other. And of course salt and ground black pepper, without which almost no recipe for a meat dish can do without.

The pepper can be ground or freshly ground. In addition, I threw in ground red pepper (1 tsp) to add spice to the pork. If you like spicy dishes, feel free to add dried herbs: oregano, basil, marjoram. I had dried basil at home, so I added ⅓ teaspoon to enhance the flavor. Rub the meat well with the spices on all sides. Now cut the cooking bag. I always take a little extra to make it easier to tie the ends. Having tied up the bag on one side, we spread it in a form of a pouch, so that one of the sides was completely on the surface of the table. Place a few sprigs of fresh herbs and garlic cloves on the bottom.

Depending on your tastes and the size of the bundle, edit the amount of herbs and their type. For example, I don’t really like cilantro, but I enjoy adding dill and parsley. After creating a pillow for the meat, lay the marinated pork on it. Evenly arrange the meat on the pillow and tie the other end of the oven bag.

We put the pork on a baking tray or in a baking dish and put it in a preheated 200° oven.

I recommend baking the pork in the oven bag on Top + Bottom so that the meat is evenly cooked on all sides. But always be guided by your oven so that nothing starts to stick.

Depending on the size of the meat, it needs to bake for about 55-60 minutes. In my case, even though the piece was large, it heated up to 65+ degrees inside in 55 minutes, which means at “rest” it is fully cooked.

If you want to enjoy the pork at the moment of maximum juiciness, I recommend using a kitchen thermometer so as not to overcook the meat in the oven. Take the finished meat out of the oven and leave it for 10 minutes.

During this time, the juices are distributed throughout the piece, after which the sliced pork will be juicy and incredibly tasty.

Potatoes, rice or pasta can be used as a side dish to the meat. In my case, it was mashed potatoes, which, if desired, can be poured over the meat “juice”.

Bon appetit! Don’t starve 😋
