Ingredients

✔ ham steak - 1.5 kg
✔ wooster sauce - 2 tbsp.
✔ salt - 1 tsp.
✔ pepper - 1 tsp.
✔ paprika - 1 tsp.
✔ garlic - 1 head

Directions

  1. Wash and dry the meat.
  2. Smear the ham with Wooster sauce and spices. Leave for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Make cuts in meat and insert garlic.
  4. Put the pork hip in a deep tray and cover with foil. Put in the oven for 1 hour, at 180°.
  5. An hour later, remove the foil and keep the pork in the oven for another 10 minutes, at 200°-220°.
  6. Serve pork steak with side dish. Enjoy aromatic and delicious meat.

I got an incredibly cute ham steak. It means that it is possible to prepare a delicious baked meat, which will perfectly fit the different garnishes. So, here we go. The steak comes with a small bone, but it does not bother us in any way. So the meat is simply washed under water and dried with paper towels.

Now let’s pickle. I had a Wooster sauce available, so I decided to use it as a basis for marinade. Its unusual spicy taste will add a special flavor to the meat. If there is no Wooster sauce, use a regular soy sauce with spices, as I did in the recipe of pork knuckle. Pour sauce on the pork thigh and sprinkle salt, pepper and paprika – everything is smeared well on the steak surface.

Let the meat stand for 15-20 minutes, so that the marinade absorbs into the fibers. After the necessary time, we make small slots in the steak and insert the garlic cloves into them.

I will bake a ham in a deep tray covered with foil. Of course, you can use the oven bag, but then the meat will not lie flat. Put the pickled meat in a baking tray, cover with foil and send it to the oven heated to 180 degrees.

Since the meat is not very thick, it takes about an hour to bake. Then we remove the foil, and leave it for another 10 minutes, at 200-220 degrees.

Thus, we will make a delicious crust on the top of the steak.

Ready-to-serve pork is best served with mashed potatoes or rice, with liquid pre-watering of the side dishes. You can also supplement the meat with plum sauce.

It is very tasty, fragrant and not quite usual.
