Directions

  1. Whisk the berries with a blender together with sugar and wine.
  2. Cook the berry sauce for 15-20 minutes until the desired consistency.

Today I want to show you a very fast and easy recipe, which can make your loved one happy or surprise your guests. In just 20 minutes we get a chic restaurant dish – baked camembert with berry sauce.

To start with, you need to buy a Camembert. Be sure that the cheese is fresh. I often got a Camembert with a little bit of shelf life, and it started to bitter. Our own recipe needs a mild creamy taste, so pay attention to this.

Cheese is sold with cheese heads weighing from 130 to 340 grams, in my case there was a package of 240 grams. For today’s recipe the weight of the cheese head does not matter. We will only bake or fry the cheese itself, which is very simple, so we will take care of the berry sauce.

If you want, you can cook a camembert with fruits, making gravy from pears, apples, plums, but I wanted exactly the sweet and sour taste of berries. I took raspberries and blueberries, but the set of berries calmly changes its taste, season or the presence of food in the fridge.

Frozen berries or fruits are perfect for the sauce, so the dish is relevant all year round. Also, if you do not want to mess with berries, you can eat cheese with sour-sweet jam, such as cranberry or raspberry.

Fact

All the berries, if necessary, defrost, wash and fold in a blender. Whip to a complete homogeneity and add sugar and wine. Once again whisk the sauce with a blender.

Then we pour the resulting mass into a saucepan, bring it to a small fire to boil, and leave it for 15-20 minutes, stirring regularly.

Periodically try the sauce so that it does not become very thick and concentrated.

While the raspberry sauce is being prepared, we will take care of the cheese. How to cook a Camembert – bake or fry – depends only on your desire. But in any case, we prepare the cheese in the same way. To do this, we make a shallow mesh on the head, on both sides.

We also lubricate the Camembert with oil, in my case with olive oil. For baking we leave the cheese in the oven, heated to 180 degrees, for 15 minutes.

For frying – wrap the head of the camembert in food paper and fry on both sides, for 4-5 minutes. According to a similar scenario, you can prepare a Camembert on the grill. If you want, you can also bake in the microwave, but personally for me, this is not the best option, and there will be no crusts on the cheese.

Put the hot cheese neatly on a plate and add the sauce from above.

I also decorated the fried camembert with whole berries. Now we cut off a piece of warm cheese with a knife or fork, dip it in sauce and enjoy.

Having tasted this dish for the first time, I was shocked how easy it is, but tasty. The contrast of melted cream cheese flavor with sweet-sour aromatic sauce is simply divine!
