Full recipe
One of the first dishes that I could make myself was, of course, a sandwich. But quickly enough I was told and showed that it becomes much tastier if you put it in the oven for a few minutes. Thus, I got acquainted with a hot sandwich, and our friendship stretches all my conscious life.
However, at the moment, I realized that the “classic” option, with sliced sausage and cheese, can be varied and slightly modified to make the taste of the snacks even better. So today I will show you how to make 4 different kinds of hot sandwiches, which I and my family like best.
The base is made of white bread, and all the differences are in the filling. The first option will be the most standard: sausage and cheese. If we add tomato slices to it, which give the sandwich freshness and a little sourness, we get the second option, so to say “classic improved”.
I will use homemade mayonnaise as a spread. If 5-10 years ago it was possible to use store sauce in cooking without conscience, now it contains so many different ingredients that it does not even melt under the influence of high temperatures.
Black bread, rye bread, finely sliced baguette or chiabatta can be used as a replacement for a white bread.
Fact
The next 2 types of hot sandwiches will be made by another mechanics. First, we will cut and mix a kind of salad, which then apply to the bread, and will bake. As a “binder” we will use the same mayonnaise.
Do not be afraid to experiment with tastes. Although the recipe for a hot sandwich is quite simple, it can be very tasty and varied. So bravely replace the sausage with grilled sausage or ham; add cucumber or mushrooms; add ketchup or mustard to the sauce.
Tip
So, let’s get down to cooking. First of all, let’s cook all the ingredients. The whte bread, or any other bread you choose, is cut into slices of approximately 1 cm thick.
You can also immediately buy a sliced version in the store.
I divide the cheese into two parts. The first one is rubbed on a large grater, the second one is cut into slices.
I do the same with sausage. At the same time, I had a doctor’s sausage and a piece of other sausage, which I put into slicing. The dice should not be too big so that the future grease would better stick to a piece of loaf.
Cut a small tomato into slices and the same dice.
It turns out that all products are divided into 2 parts.
At last we make home mayonnaise or use store.
At this stage all the ingredients are ready and you can mix the “salad”. As I said earlier, I break it down into 2 kinds – with and without tomatoes.
For each option I use about 50 grams of mayonnaise. For spice, I add some ground pepper. If there is no grinder or mortar, you can safely use black ground pepper and some red pepper. Also try the saltiness grease. In my case the mayonnaise was already salty, so I didn’t have to add any salt.
Now take a tray and cover it with foil, you can also use a non-stick mat, and put on it slices of bread.
Let’s start assembling future hot sandwiches. Half the bread smeared with mayonnaise and put on top slices of sausage. At half of this part, put the tomato.
From the top carefully cover everything with cheese.
For the next two quarters of bread we put the mixed stuffing: half with tomato, half without tomatoes.
We put a tray in the oven heated to 180°, and wait 10 minutes. During this time, the cheese will melt and the bread will get a delicate crispy crust.
By the way, a lot of people make hot sandwiches in a multicooker or microwave, but it is impossible to get such a crispy effect.
We take out the sandwiches and start tasting. If it is very hot, let stand for 1-2 minutes. Such hot sandwiches are very easy to cook, but unrealistically tasty.
They can be cooked for breakfast, for a snack or even as a snack on a festive table. While I was trying to take a photo, I almost snapped and ate a couple of pieces. But, as you can see, my willpower is at its best.
Bon appetit! Don’t starve 😋
