- Peel potatoes and cut into pieces. Mix with oil and spices. Place the first layer of casserole.
- Mix minced meat with egg, salt and pepper. Lay out the second layer.

Potato casserole is a very simple and tasty dish. It always helps me in the moment when the daily porridge, potatoes, pasta and I want something unusual. There are many variations of baked goods, but today I want to show probably one of the fastest recipes. For this casserole, we will use raw potatoes.
Clean the potatoes and cut them into small pieces. Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil or any other to the potatoes. Pour salt with black ground pepper, dried garlic, red pepper and a few teaspoons of Italian herbs (basil, oregano, savory).
Mix the potatoes well so that the oil and spices are evenly dispersed. If you have mixed the potatoes with the spices in a bowl, put them in a bowl in which you will cook the casserole in the oven. Put the slices on the bottom of the form or tray, you can put them in several layers.
Let’s move on to mixing mincemeat. I use store “assortment”: beef and pork.
Chicken minced meat can also be used for casserole, but I like it better when you feel a rich meat taste.
Ingredients contain 700 grams of minced meat. Such a volume is perfect for those who really want meat. If you want, you can safely reduce the amount of minced meat by half or add another layer of potatoes.

We add 1 chicken egg, salt and pepper in minced meat. Knead for a few minutes, achieving homogeneity.
Now it is necessary to move the minced meat on top of the potatoes. Lay out evenly, a little pressed against the potatoes to minimize air layers. From above, align the minced meat with a hand or spoon.
Our potato casserole will consist of four layers. Two are already ready, so let’s move on to the third – tomato. For this we take the ripe tomatoes, and carefully cut them into slices.
Hard unripe tomatoes can give the dish strong sourness and the smell of grass, so it is better to put softer tomato fruits.
Tip
Put the tomatoes on the meat. I got a thickness of 1-2 slices. From above I season with salt and black ground pepper a little.
Closes the potato casserole with cheese. You can take a bar of hard cheese and grate it. I had a slit cheese in my fridge, so I put it out, trying to cover the whole dish. It is desirable to take cheese with a distinct taste, but without bitterness. In my case, there was a good Russian cheese.
Close the form with a lid or foil, and send a casserole in the oven for 60 minutes, at 180°.
During this time, potatoes and minced meat will be fully cooked, but will not have time to “boil”. The casserole is made of potatoes, so it is quite nourishing. The dish is also very juicy and fragrant.
